3 Simple Steps For Your Implant Journey

Dental Implants

Dental Implants are the perfect solution for loose or missing teeth

Here at Doncaster Road Dental Practice in Leicester, we never want the cost of treatment to be the barrier that stops a patient from achieving their optimal smile goal. This is why it’s worth mentioning that we offer all our patients finance options for Dental Implant treatment – allowing them to pay monthly over 12 months, with 0% interest.

3 simple Steps For Your Implant journey

Step 1: Come In For Your Consultation

Every treatment begins with an assessment from your DRDP Dentist. They will discuss all the options for you, make an assessment of the best solution for you and ensure you understand every step of your treatment.

Step 2: The Treatment

This is a straightforward process which can be completed under local anaesthetic. The implants will need three to six months to heal and integrate with your jaw bone to provide a solid support for the crown or bridge.

Step 3: Restoration

Once your jaw has healed, your dentist will take an impression of your mouth. This enables a dental technician to build your bespoke crown or bridge, which will be colour matched to blend seamlessly with your other teeth.

Step 3: Restoration

Once your jaw has healed, your dentist will take an impression of your mouth. This enables a dental technician to build your bespoke crown or bridge, which will be colour matched to blend seamlessly with your other teeth. It may be necessary to have a separate appointment between six weeks to six months after your initial treatment, to allow the implant to fully integrate - ensuring your jaw has completely healed before the crown or bridge is permanently fitted.

After we create your treatment plan, we will be able to advise on how many implants you may need and estimate the cost involved. It’s important to be driven by the many benefits, not the cost!

If a person has good health and is able to undergo surgery for routine bridgework or routine tooth extractions, the same person can receive dental implants. If the patient is taking any form of medication, they should alert us in the medical questionnaire that we use. There are very few medical conditions that would prevent you having an implant.

No, implant placement is a very gentle procedure, normally carried out under local anaesthetic.
There may be some slight discomfort and perhaps swelling for a short period, which can be relieved with painkillers. Most of our patients report little or no discomfort.
It will take approximately 20 minutes for each implant placed.
The whole Implant procedure takes three to nine months as a general guideline. We will provide you with a full treatment plan which will include a more accurate timeline.
Normally after 24 hours. We will advise you dependant on your case and situation, as everyone is individual.
Like natural teeth and gums, implants need a good oral hygiene programme and regular checks by your dentist. We will provide full written instructions on how to care for the final restoration.
